HOW TO ENTER

Entrants and Winners must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license. Odds of winning depend on number of entries received and number of Green Days forecasted by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (the "Agency"). Odds of winning a prize will decrease for entrants as Sweepstakes approaches its end date.

There are three ways to enter Green Pays on Green Days 2010 Giveaway (the "Sweepstakes"):

  1. Online Entry: To enter online, log onto http://greenpays.org, or find a link to the sweepstakes on www.nbc5.com, www.telemundochicago.com or www.cleantheair.org. Click on the sweepstakes link and complete the online air quality survey and online entry form. Only one email address per individual may be used for the Sweepstakes; individuals using multiple email addresses risk disqualification of all entries. The entry form will ask you to verify that you are at least 18 years of age. ONLY ONE ENTRY IS PERMITTED PER PERSON DURING THE SWEEPSTAKES REGARDLESS OF METHOD OF ENTRY.

The online entry form will ask individuals to answer questions regarding voluntary actions to reduce air pollution prior to completing the entry form for the Sweepstakes. These responses will be used by the Administrator to gauge public activities in relation to air pollution reductions. The online form will also ask entrants to indicate where they learned about the Sweepstakes and will allow them to mark checkboxes to receive additional information. To unsubscribe from the email list, send an email to the following address: EPA.Partners@illinois.gov. All online entries must be received before 11:59 pm on September 12, 2010 to be eligible for the Sweepstakes.
  2. Mail-in Entry: To enter by mail without an official "Green Pays on Green Days 2010 Giveaway" entry card, print your full name, complete home mailing address (no Post Office Boxes) including zip code, county of residence, daytime phone number and birth year on a 3x5 post card and mail it to: Green Pays on Green Days 2010 Giveaway, c/o Illinois EPA, 1021 North Grand Avenue East, #35, Springfield, IL 62702. ONLY ONE ENTRY IS PERMITTED PER PERSON DURING THE SWEEPSTAKES REGARDLESS OF METHOD OF ENTRY. Winners are randomly selected from this electronic database. Entering by mail will in no way increase the chances of winning.
  3. On-Site Entry: To enter on-site, you may complete an official "Green Pays on Green Days 2010 Giveaway" entry card at various special events throughout the Sweepstakes Period. Sweepstakes representatives will be available on-site at select special events to accept completed entry cards. Dates and events at which entry cards will be available are subject to change at the Administrator’s sole discretion. Administrator is not liable if entry cards are not available on a given day at a given event. To find out about current event, go to www.cleantheair.org/calendar.shtml. Individuals may complete the entry card on site, which will be collected as an official entry by the Sweepstakes Administrator, or individuals may mail the entry to: Green Pays on Green Days 2010 Giveaway, c/o Illinois EPA, 1021 North Grand Avenue East, #35, Springfield, IL 62702. Mailed entries must be postmarked no later than September 12, 2010 and received no later than the close of business on September 20, 2010 to be eligible for the Sweepstakes. No photocopies or mechanical reproductions of entry cards are permitted.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Sweepstakes entries are checked regularly to ensure that entrants are not violating this rule. In the event an entrant is found to have submitted more than one entry during the Sweepstakes, the Administrator will disqualify any and all entries submitted by that entrant for the entire Green Pays on Green Days 2010 Giveaway. The Administrator reserves the right to disqualify entries for the violation mentioned above without any obligation to notify the entrants of their disqualification.

HOW WINNERS ARE SELECTED

"Green Day" Prize Winners: The Agency – based on the weather forecast and actual air pollution monitoring data – issues an air quality forecast at approximately 4:00 p.m. each weekday. This forecast may indicate that the following day is expected to be a good air quality day (i.e., a "Green Day"). Every day throughout the Sweepstakes Period, when a "Green Day" is designated by the Agency, a minimum of one (1) winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received to date. Because this designation is tied to the weather and the air quality forecast, there is no way to accurately estimate how many "Green Days" there will be over the course of the Sweepstakes Period. The person(s) selected will win a Green Day Prize. A representative of the Agency will contact the Winner(s) based on information provided on the submitted entry; Green Day Prize(s) will be sent via United Parcel Service or United States Postal Service to the address provided by the Winner(s). If the Agency is unable to contact Winner(s) from the information provided after a reasonable effort has been made, it reserves the right to select another Winner(s) at its sole discretion. All decisions of the Administrator and Agency are final and binding on all matters relating to the drawing and the Sweepstakes generally.

Only one (1) "Green Day" Prize per household for the duration of the Sweepstakes.

Grand Prize Winner:One (1) entry will be randomly selected from among eligible Green Day Prize Winners (as defined below) to win the Grand Prize. To be eligible, the Green Day Prize Winner or a proxy must be present to win the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize drawing is part of a Sweepstakes closing reception, which will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. and end at approximately 8:00 p.m. on September 28, 2010 at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 North Cannon Drive, Chicago, IL 60614.
